Our Mission

Around 1 in 47 Londoners are currently experiencing homelessness. Over 90% of those people are in some form of temporary accommodation.

Individuals in this situation face deep and overlapping barriers including limited qualifications and training, poor mental and physical health, a lack of work experience and the benefits trap which disincentivises paid employment over a certain number of hours. These barriers severely restrict access to employment meaning securing private rented housing becomes nearly impossible.

Without the intervention of Fat Macy’s, our beneficiaries are unable to move forward with their lives and to break the cycle of homelessness.

Milestone Programme

Co-created with our beneficiaries, the Milestone Programme is a long-term initiative supporting people living in temporary accommodation towards secure employment, stable housing and better personal wellbeing.

We offer a hospitality-based training programme, combining practical skills development with tailored one-to-one support. Participants first complete our Training Academy, made up of structured hospitality and employability workshops, followed by personalised support to access employment and resettlement opportunities.

This work is underpinned by our Housing Deposit Awards which assist with the financial costs of moving into the private rented sector. We also recognise that sustaining these outcomes is important and provide up to one year of holistic post-move support.
